Anybody else near Soi 38 hear loud ass drumming between 11pm and midnight? Is it a club in the area?

I'm in the Siri at Sukhumvit and hear it from the 26th floor. Friends of mine in the Ashton 38 can also hear it from their condo, ~500 meters away from me. Future Steps International School Bangkok (FSB) Reviews?

Hello all! I may be moving with my family to Bangkok Thailand. I have a kindergartener and was wondering if anyone has insight on this school? I find it odd that they don't have any staff administrative emails online and don't have that much info about what the kids are doing etc. I heard about this school from a YouTube video. Need help choosing a condo

Hello guys! I recently moved to Bangkok a week ago because of a job and I was looking for a place to rent between Dolce La Salle and Le Crique Condo both are on the green BTS line. My work is in Thong Lor so that’s why I chose these two places. But I cannot figure our which one to choose because Dolce is really aesthetic but far from the BTS. And Le Crique’s location is good but the facilities are not that good. Both rooms don’t have washing machine in the room. Dolce is 1000THB more expensive than Le Crique. Is there anyone who has stayed in these places and can give me a review of these two places so that I can make a better decision? Is Bangkok really this expensive?

I'm on a way back to Prague as a solo traveller coming from a long stay in Japan. I planned to stay in Bangkok for a week before going home, to enjoy a little bit of luxury and relax after staying on a budget in Japan. Well little did I know that I will have to stay on budget here as well! Seriously, almost everything here is more expensive than in Japan, maybe apart from accommodation, because living space comes at a premium in Tokyo. I was looking for a nice chill bar with a normal atmosphere, where I could drink and meet some local people or travelers. I guess that's just not happening. Firstly, all I saw so far was either bars with pushy tenders, and/or people sitting there in tight groups with no chance to meet someone, and secondly, I'm refusing to pay more for a drink in a street bar here than I would pay for one in Prague in a great cocktail bar. Like seriously, what is wrong with the prices here? Do locals just not go out, or am I in the wrong areas? I can't...

Working in BKK/Thailand - 2 yr plan.

Hi all, I have a serious question in regards to my future. I had already laid out a two year plan, so I could relocate in the future. With the money I could save in those two years I could be very comfortable for a while. I also have a side hustle which could earn me money, whilst living there (if I would be accepted for that specific visa). But I now have two job offers in my home country on the table. 1) SDR role at a Tech company. 2)Fraud coordinator role at a major credit agency. I know which one I would like to accept but which of these 2 would actually be better to find work in Thailand in the future? I assume 1. But I don't really know how the job market is for expats. I also realize there are multiple factors to consider. I also have the side hustle so could use that for the digital nomad visa (if accepted in theory). Advice for First Time Visitor

Headed to Bangkok for (4) Nights next month for the first time and close to making decision on final accommodations. Been trying to do as much "research" as possible about neighborhoods and zero'd down on a few options, but wondering if any of my current picks stand out to those familiar with the city. What I'm looking for: All generally seem to be close to train spots, 5-15 min walk, but hoping to be more "out the door" and jump in cab/train, shopping/coffee shop areas than be in mostly residential/secluded areas. Without going too much into the details of the specific lodging like pricing, quality, etc, do any of these circled areas stand out as good "areas" for first time visitor whos hoping to "jump into the action" of the city and not be stranded in remote-ville. Bangkok Bank savings account?

Hi! I recently moved back to Thailand after living in Australia for a while and am wondering if it's possible to add multiple savings accounts to my Bangkok Bank app (or if another bank has it) like the screenshot here? Or would | have to get multiple different physical cards from banks? For more info if you have a debit card (both my CommBank and Bangkok Bank are debit cards) with CommBank, your main card is the only one you can make transactions out of but you can open multiple savings accounts that you can earn interest out of, the only thing is tha you have to transfer money from the savings account to the "smart access" (which i think is the actual card itself.) I had so much fun on the Bangkok Chaophraya River Cruise 😭

Friends kept my 40,000 baht bond to cover their rent

Back in 2021, I moved to Bangkok with a group of friends.I paid 40,000 baht as a bond, but the lease was in one of the other girl’s names. When I left, I made sure to find replacement tenants to take over my spot, so there was no loss of rent from my side and to help the rest of the tenants. However, another girl in the house left early and didn’t replace herself. Instead of dealing with that properly, the others used my bond money to cover the rent for the house. When I asked for my bond back, the girl on the lease refused, saying I had “broken the lease” - even though I had gone out of my way to replace myself. Baiyoke Sky Hotel

Need some help. I booked this hotel all of August. Was planning on meeting my girl there but we unfortunately broke up. I've already booked air tickets first class back when it was cheaper. I actually had two bookings, second one was just for a day since I was arriving a day earlier. Booked via the hotel web site. Fully refundable until July. I cancelled the second booking. Cancellation notice but no refund. TL;DR Chased after the hotel for a week, they promised a refund in "25 business days" which is ridiculous. Charged back with visa. Now I'm dealing with the other booking. I'm thinking of cancelling mostly because it will just remind me of the breakup. I'll likely book an AirBnb instead something to my liking. Hotel seems nice and it includes breakfast buffet for 2 each day but that will probably just remind me of the breakup as well. Just looking for some opinions here. Any thoughts appreciated. Open thai bank account for spouse in Non-Immigrant Type O visa

I need to open a bank account for my partner. I work here with valid visa and work permit. My partner has valid non-immigrant type O visa. We have all the necessary legal documents ready. But it's so annoying that none of the banks are willing to open an account for her. My insurance sends account payee cheques in her name which needs to be deposited into her account only. But the banks are not ready to open her account at all and the cheques are all sitting there. Tried our luck at different branches of K-bank, SCB, Krung Thai, KrungSri, but couldn't get it done. A few weeks back the KTB branch at CentralWorld asked us to get the residence certificate from the immigration office, which was the only document missing according to her at that time. And now when we go with all the necessary documents, they are still saying it;s not possible. So annoying and frustrating. The K-bank branch at CentralWorld asked for National ID from our country. Who still thinks that a nett diesel subsidy of THB 10 per litre is a good idea?

Photo taken from BTS Saint Louis Station (Silom Line) today. The current oil crisis is more severe than the crises in 1973 and 1979. Yet Thailand still has a gross diesel subsidy of THB 17 per litre, and fuel excise duty of THB 7 per litre, making a nett subsidy of THB 10 per litre. This is absolute looney tunes. The price of retail energy (oil, gas, and electricity) should NEVER be subsidised, because it encourages overconsumption. The taxpayers’ money would be better spent improving public transport, particularly buses. Urban music bar is not good for foreigners

I don’t want that kind of attitude. I have been hit by a guy twice, not once. I talked to a girl, I didn’t know she had a boyfriend. Then after I found out she had a boyfriend, I stopped talking to her, but her gay friend hit me twice. I reported it to security, but they covered for the Thai guy and took his side. I don’t want to fight him, I want him to apologize. If he has a girlfriend, I didn’t hit on his girl, but he is gay and he danced sexually with my friends.
