What day/night market would you recommend for street food and cheap clothes/souvenirs?

Hello! It’s friday tomorrow and our last full day here in bangkok and were just planning to spend it on markets and eating street foods. Can you recommend a good day/night market with lots of options and cheap prices? We are staying at the sukhumvit area but we’ll be fine to travel if the market is worth to go to. Thanks in advance!! submitted by /u/Squiddieboymeow [link] [comments] The Bangkok Community https://ift.tt/0k4wCXu Bangkok Hotel Deals

Digital Nomad Visa

For those who are on this visa, how easy was it for you to get one and how long? And this could be subjective but was it worth it? Sorry if that’s too many questions. I’m thinking of living somewhere to explore more and a change of environment. submitted by /u/Moonriverflows [link] [comments] The Bangkok Community https://ift.tt/VI0twdZ Bangkok Hotel Deals

Srinagarindra Market on Thursday night

We are visiting Bangkok from Jan 28 (Tuesday) to Feb 1 (Saturday; leave in the midnight). I see many people recommended Srinagarindra Night Market, which apparently opens only from Thursday to Sunday. We plan to visit it either on Thursday or Friday night. I am thinking of joining a Klook tour to Damnoen floating market and Maeklong railway market on Thursday (Jan 30) morning, which should be back to the city by 3pm; and a visit to Ayutthaya on Friday (Jan 31), which should be back to the city around 7pm. Since our flight is in the midnight and it takes around 30 minutes each trip from/back to the city, we prefer Thursday night for Srinagarindra. Are the shops/stalls open on Thursday night? Or people only going there on Friday or weekends? If there are only few shops opening on Thursday, then we might need a plan B… submitted by /u/butterJM [link] [comments] The Bangkok Community https://ift.tt/CSIOjbi Bangkok Hotel Deals

Football in Khlong San

I'll be staying in Khlong San shortly and wondered if anyone had any recommendations of places to catch Premier league games? Good beer is also heavily favoured. Cheers! submitted by /u/StevesPetLlama [link] [comments] The Bangkok Community https://ift.tt/JcpAudX Bangkok Hotel Deals

Food delivery gone bad

I’ve ordered food from a Western restaurant in Nana about an hour ago. I live in Sathorn and the driver went all the way to W district in Phra Khanong and he has been stuck there for like 40 minutes already. I’ve sent multiple messages to the driver to no avail. I’ve contacted Foodpanda multiple times already, they’ve tried to contact the driver but he didn’t pick up the phone. They’ve offered me 40 THB in voucher (while the total order value is more than 400 thb). As of now (22:29) the driver is still in Phra Khanong and not moving. I’m sooo tired of these stupid food delivery drivers cause there’s always something wrong lately. One guy even had the guts to come to my place, make a picture of the food at my condo and take it back with him to enjoy it himself!! Who the F*** does something like that? And there’s no real support in Foodpanda nor Grab with issues like these… Anyone had a similar experience when ordering food in bkk? Or even in Pattaya or wherever? submitted by ...

As expat partner, what are my chances of finding a job in Bangkok?

Hi, My partner (31f) was offered the chance to move to Bangkok as an expat for her current European employer. If we were to accept the offer and I (31m) wanted to go with her, I would have to quit my current job (no possibility of doing it 100% remote). I have no idea about the current job market in Bangkok, hence my question: What are my chances of finding a local job in Bangkok, preferably in my domain and according to my skillset. For context, short recap of my resumé: - Master Business Administration - IT management - 4 years as IT-consultant: as a software analyst (not a dev), working on multiple custom development projects, certified PO & Scrum Master. - 4 years as Project Manager, of which the last 3y at a Fortune500 company, specialized in logistics automation & robotics, managing projects up to €20mil. - Fluent in English & French (mother tongue is Dutch) Is it realistic to find a job in a similar field of work? (IT, logistics, robotics) What would be my best ...

Where to stay in Bangkok

My fiancé and I are going to Thailand in March and are looking to spend 3-4 nights in Bangkok! We love a good mix of more authentic culture but need some ease of accessibility as it’s our first time visiting! We’ll likely spend one day doing sight-seeing but for the rest of the time are more interested in experiencing local food, nightlife, and culture (we’re also gay so would love to be able to hit a few gay bars). Would love recommendations on which neighborhoods/areas to stay in! submitted by /u/andrewover1 [link] [comments] The Bangkok Community https://ift.tt/Ubse9Dm Bangkok Hotel Deals

Clothing in Bangkok?

hey, i’m going to bangkok for the first time later this year. i visit family in thailand quite often but i’ve never been in bangkok, besides the airport. i’m looking to make a list of places i’d want to go shopping, mainly clothing. i like some of what that’s currently trending, as well as timeless pieces, japanese inspired, alternative, or just something to do with current east asian fashion influences, independent brands or local brands. price isn’t that important, i like looking. whether it’s masculine, feminine or unisex doesn’t matter very much either. i’m also curious about second-hand markets and stores. what do you recommend? thank you in advance :) submitted by /u/Practical-Amount6720 [link] [comments] The Bangkok Community https://ift.tt/5OyLv1m Bangkok Hotel Deals

Flying into Bangkok 6am for tailoring stopover on way to Chiang Mai: where can I freshen up in the early morning

I'm flying into Bangkok from Europe on my way to Chiang Mai, for a quick stopover to see my regular Bangkok tailor to get some clothes Jacket/pants/shirts made. I'm flying around the region for work, but no real time in Bangkok planned, just short stopovers here and there, so I need to stop in on my way to Chiang Mai to get measured. The problem is my flight lands at 6am, and the tailor in Nana doesn't open until 11am, and my departing flight to CNX (which I will be checked through on) is at 3pm. Considering I won't have luggage, I expect to be through customs fairly quickly, so I suppose that if I catch a cab or just the ARL, I'll be in town by 7:30am. Where could I go at that time to have a shower and a nap so that I am semi-respectable (both in terms of smell and also alertness) when I turn up to the tailors at 11am? The nap is kind of important as I usually don't get any sleep on the flight from Europe as the landing time is at midnight CET meaning it's...

Best YSS suspension options for a PCX 160 in Bangkok?

I drive a 2024 PCX 160 motorbike in Bangkok, and I’m planning to upgrade the default suspension with YSS shocks to reduce the impact of potholes and manhole covers. They offer several models, ranging from 1,300 THB to 10,900 THB, and I’m not sure which one to choose. I’ve already found a garage that can install them for me. Any insights on which model would be best? https://www.yss.co.th/products/list?vehicleTypes=MOTO&brand=152&model=17700&year=2024 submitted by /u/JackyChyn [link] [comments] The Bangkok Community https://ift.tt/afO9x3t Bangkok Hotel Deals

chatuchak park weekend market

I’ve been told that there is a store at the market (army shop, row 18) that sells painted flying jackets (A2’s etc) I know this is a huge ask but if anyone happens to wander past this place, could you kindly see if there is a business card or some way of getting hold of them? Many thanks in advance! submitted by /u/that_dude_from_uk [link] [comments] The Bangkok Community https://ift.tt/4aEdzOe Bangkok Hotel Deals
