Cockroaches

Hi, I just moved in my new apartment (The Rich Sathorn Taksin) and I am traumatized at how many cockroaches there are. They can only be found in the kitchen fortunately, but I’m afraid they might come to the bedroom one day. Fyi, I don’t cook at all and I always take my trash out at the end of the day - so basically no traces of food. I also set up traps (gel which they eat and die, etc.) but they do not seem to work at all (or to the extent that I want). Do you guys have any solution that can get rid of them once and for good? Also, is it possible that they might get into my bedroom one day? submitted by /u/TheEdgyEBoy [link] [comments] The Bangkok Community https://ift.tt/F9BTPy3 Bangkok Hotel Deals

Bangkok scams!

A tough lesson from Bangkok. ๐Ÿ’” I was planning a relaxing coffee day in Song Wat when a local approached me and said a temple was only open that day. Since I hadn't visited any temples yet and it was Sunday, I thought, "Why not?" He even suggested taking a tuk-tuk. Along the way, another man recommended a jewelry shop, and that's where things took a turn. I ended up buying jewelry that I later regretted. Thankfully, I was able to request a refund, but it came with a costly lesson. What surprised me most was that I wasn't the only one—there were other tourists at the shop who also ended up requesting refunds. If you're visiting Bangkok, be cautious of strangers who approach you with stories about "special temple openings," "government promotions," or who insist on taking you to specific shops. These situations can be part of a well-known tourist scam. Do your own research, trust your instincts, and never let anyone pressure you into...

Denied access to Bangkok during overnight layover at DMK, forced to stay in airport all night. Can I claim compensation or a refund?

Hi everyone, I had an overnight international layover at Don Mueang Airport (DMK) before my flight to Bali. I wanted to leave the airport to visit Bangkok and return the next morning for my flight. I even booked a hotel for the night. When I tried to leave the airport, I was refused permission to exit and was required to stay airside overnight. This was not a visa issue: my passport allows visa-free entry to Thailand for tourism. I had to stay overnight in the international departures area, where there are no sleeping facilities. Even the lounges available did not have beds. The situation caused significant stress and discomfort for me and my fiancรฉe. Has anyone experienced this at DMK? Is there any possibility of compensation, a goodwill gesture, refund, or reimbursement from the airline, airport, or travel insurance in this type of situation? Details: - Airport: Don Mueang (DMK), Bangkok - Airline: AirAsia Thanks for any advice. submitted by /u/saradata [link]...

Whats the scam here?

So I’ve been in Bangkok for about 10 days now and like usual I was taking a walk along Khao San road at about 10 pm. My mother was with me. On two separate occasions, two different couples approached us randomly on the street. The first one asked us if I could help him find a Halal restaurant. After which I did point him to one. He asked me where I was from, I said India and he said he’s from the UAE and he asked a few things about India. At this point a woman walks in, shakes our hand and says ‘oh I love India’. She had a Russian/Eastern European accent. I cut the convo and walk away. 20 mins later a man approaches us asking if we can help him find a money exchange. I tell him, he says ok and continues to talk. Asks me where I’m from and if I live in Bangkok. Then goes on to ask really stupid questions like “what’s the currency here?” “1 usd is how much baht?” “What colour are the notes here?” And then proceeds to open his wallet and show me a huge wad of USD and AUD banknotes. I s...
