Anybody know where to buy bolt cutters?

I am near Jodd Fairs for reference. My lock on my suitcase won’t open. I’d prefer not to have to go too far to find these things, but would go across the city if required. Thank you so much in advance. submitted by /u/terrible-gator22 [link] [comments] The Bangkok Community https://ift.tt/AURbSFr Bangkok Hotel Deals

Traveling Solo to Chiang Mai & Bangkok — Looking to Meet People, Explore, and Connect

Hey all — I’ll be in Thailand for about 10 days in January (Chiang Mai - Jan. 8-11; Bangkok Jan. 11-18) and I’m traveling solo. I’m hoping to meet some interesting people along the way — fellow travelers, locals, anyone open to hanging out, exploring, grabbing food/coffee, or showing me corners of the city I wouldn’t find alone. I’m pretty open-minded about the kind of connections I make: • travel buddies for day trips • new friends to explore cafés, markets, or temples • locals who want to share their favorite spots • also open to meeting someone I vibe with romantically if it happens naturally :) About me: Early 40's, Caucasian male from the US, chill, respectful, active, into culture, fitness, good food, and good conversation. Not a party-hard type but enjoy nightlife in moderation. Also big on meditation and wellness. If anyone will be around Chiang Mai or Bangkok during these windows, or has suggestions for meetups, events, or places where people actually talk to each ...

Condo rentals

In general, what are usually the rules when renting a furnished condo. Is it standard to ask the landlord to maybe remove a small sofas and the tenant can replace it with something bigger at their own expense? What about hanging pictures, changing curtains etc. Obviously, I wouldn't cause damage. My experience in the US has been as long as nothing is permanent, and any holes in the walls for hanging pics etc. are filled, they're usually OK with these types of things. I'm asking because I'll be renting a condo for a year in Bangkok, in an older building. I'd like to be able to update the decor at my own expense. I recently watched a YouTube where a couple took doors off cabinets. I assumed they had permission, but is that common? submitted by /u/Original-Medicine-73 [link] [comments] The Bangkok Community https://ift.tt/bI1o74Q Bangkok Hotel Deals

“This will come out of the employee’s salary.” Is this common?

I’m renting a condo, and I have one of the worst property management companies out there. I won’t mention them by name for obvious reasons, but let’s just say, they are one of the biggest, most corporate ones out there with a very popular website. An incident happened that I won’t go into detail on, but the end result is that they owe me money for damages on something they did very wrong. We have been negotiating the amount, and during talks, the manager said to me, “We ask for your kindness, because the amount we pay you will come out of the salary of the employee who made the mistake.” Again, this is a huge company, very corporate. Is this a bluff, and a tactic to get me to drop my asking price on the fair compensation? Or, is this common in Thailand? Thanks so much in advance for your feedback and information. I’m curious if others have had this experience, if they know the truth, and what they would do in this situation. submitted by /u/NicholasRyanH [link] [comments...

Modafinil in Bangkok

I have sleep apnea (37 per hour) and I forgot my modafinil (give me a break Reddit police I'm already struggling enough and mad at myself to a level that is hard to cope). Can anyone give me a reliable and quick way to get it in Bangkok ? I have considered hospital but would love to avoid the hassle initially. And getting the energy to ask a gazillion pharmacy... is too tiring for the moment. submitted by /u/Witty_Hearing_6603 [link] [comments] The Bangkok Community https://ift.tt/UMhfYrn Bangkok Hotel Deals

Legitimate Massage

Can anyone recommend a really good and legitimate massage place in the Nana area? Willing to go a little further if you have someplace special. There’s a million of them around here but if you know the area, you know most of them are offering other things besides massage therapy. Either that or they’re really not that great and cater to tourists. My back is killing me and I really need to find someone good. Someone who seriously knows what they’re doing. My back is a mess. Appreciate any help. submitted by /u/ODB11B [link] [comments] The Bangkok Community https://ift.tt/i6Ux4Lg Bangkok Hotel Deals

Trying to find a cybersecurity job in Thailand so I can be with my girlfriend — honestly losing hope

Hey guys, Not really sure where else to post this but I just need to get it out. I’ve been trying to find a cybersecurity or IT job in Thailand for like 7 months now and nothing’s working. I’ve applied through LinkedIn, JobsDB, even messaged a few recruiters, but I barely get any replies. I’m from India and just graduated with a degree in Computer Science (Cybersecurity). I really want to move to Thailand not just for work, but because my girlfriend lives there. We’ve been together for almost 4 years now, and honestly, long distance is breaking me. I’ve visited her a couple of times and every time I leave, it gets harder. I miss her so much. I’m not trying to chase an easy life — I just want to be close to her, work hard, and build something together. I’ve tried improving my resume, networking, everything… but it’s just not clicking. I’m starting to feel like I’m running out of options. If anyone here has gone through something similar or knows companies in Thailand that are open...

Need Help

I need someone I can trust with a Krungthai account that is able to send money to a loved one in prison. ( yes I know he’s stupid ) would be happy paying said person 1500THB per transaction. If they live close to Ayutthaya and can do it in person even better. submitted by /u/Gold-Confusion8153 [link] [comments] The Bangkok Community https://ift.tt/myAP4ID Bangkok Hotel Deals

Opened a SCB today limits?

My SCB I just opened has a 30.000 baht total limit a day. Anyone recently have any experience in upping the limits? Do they do it? Or is it a lost cause for now? Wondering because kbank and Bangkok bank both give me generous limits now after the whole debacle earlier this year. submitted by /u/longasleep [link] [comments] The Bangkok Community https://ift.tt/agdYXmf Bangkok Hotel Deals

Anywhere I could buy refillable vape kits?

I know disposables aren’t too hard to find around Bangkok, but the vape shops I’ve seen only sell those. I’m just looking for somewhere I could pick up a simple refillable kit. Thing is I use a specific CBD liquid to help me sleep which I feel would be easy to bring but I’d rather not risk taking my device through customs. I know it's not completely legal but I have no intention of using it in public, the alternative for me would be sleeping pills but I don't really want to be feeling drowsy for most of my stay. submitted by /u/GovernmentFit4333 [link] [comments] The Bangkok Community https://ift.tt/a7YH4lF Bangkok Hotel Deals

Stuck in the airport (DMK) - what to do?

We’re arriving in Bangkok (DMK) at 6 AM from another country and we’re supposed to take a 10 AM flight to Chiang Mai. Then Nok Air suddenly rescheduled our flight to 7 AM which we couldn’t possibly catch since we still need to clear immigration and get our bags. Now they’ve moved us to a 5 PM flight instead, which means we’ll be stuck at the airport for nearly 12 hours. We asked if they could offer anything, like lounge access or boarding priority but they said there’s not much they can do. They gave me a number for their contact center but I can’t call since I’m not from Thailand. 😩 Any suggestions or tips on how to survive or kill time at the DMK airport? Any decent lounges, food spots, or cafes that are worth checking out? submitted by /u/Violet_Rock [link] [comments] The Bangkok Community https://ift.tt/wjMHyPi Bangkok Hotel Deals
