In general, what are usually the rules when renting a furnished condo. Is it standard to ask the landlord to maybe remove a small sofas and the tenant can replace it with something bigger at their own expense? What about hanging pictures, changing curtains etc. Obviously, I wouldn't cause damage. My experience in the US has been as long as nothing is permanent, and any holes in the walls for hanging pics etc. are filled, they're usually OK with these types of things. I'm asking because I'll be renting a condo for a year in Bangkok, in an older building. I'd like to be able to update the decor at my own expense. I recently watched a YouTube where a couple took doors off cabinets. I assumed they had permission, but is that common?
