I need to open a bank account for my partner. I work here with valid visa and work permit. My partner has valid non-immigrant type O visa. We have all the necessary legal documents ready. But it's so annoying that none of the banks are willing to open an account for her. My insurance sends account payee cheques in her name which needs to be deposited into her account only. But the banks are not ready to open her account at all and the cheques are all sitting there.
Tried our luck at different branches of K-bank, SCB, Krung Thai, KrungSri, but couldn't get it done.
A few weeks back the KTB branch at CentralWorld asked us to get the residence certificate from the immigration office, which was the only document missing according to her at that time. And now when we go with all the necessary documents, they are still saying it;s not possible. So annoying and frustrating.
The K-bank branch at CentralWorld asked for National ID from our country. Doesn't make sense at all.
Any pointers if anyone has been able to open an account successfully recently would be really appreciated.
