Where should I live?

Hey! I’m moving to Bangkok soon in a couple of months and I’m considering on where to live. I like the local way of living in Thailand but I want to be 20-30 min away from the city center at least. My current number one choice is lat phrao because it’s seems nice and local and has cheap options. Anyone that’s lived there that can share some experiences? And if you don’t think it would be a good option could you recommend something else? Thanks
