A tough lesson from Bangkok. 💔 I was planning a relaxing coffee day in Song Wat when a local approached me and said a temple was only open that day. Since I hadn't visited any temples yet and it was Sunday, I thought, "Why not?" He even suggested taking a tuk-tuk. Along the way, another man recommended a jewelry shop, and that's where things took a turn. I ended up buying jewelry that I later regretted. Thankfully, I was able to request a refund, but it came with a costly lesson. What surprised me most was that I wasn't the only one—there were other tourists at the shop who also ended up requesting refunds. If you're visiting Bangkok, be cautious of strangers who approach you with stories about "special temple openings," "government promotions," or who insist on taking you to specific shops. These situations can be part of a well-known tourist scam. Do your own research, trust your instincts, and never let anyone pressure you into making a purchase.
