I encountered a very peculiar scam in Bangkok. Two afghani people started speaking to me all of a sudden while I was entering Terminal 21 mall. They showed concern about my weight and said there is an effective herbal remedy. I thought for sure its a scam but I wanted to see how they will do it and this curiosity killed the cat. They told me to get honey from 7-Eleven and get some herbs from a herbal shop. After buying honey, he took me to a deserted street and entered a dilapated herbal shop. At the shop, he showed prices like 300 Baht for Pandela and 750 Baht for Sarkandu. I thought it seemed like a small scam. Who knew it might actually work ( I know I was crazy to believe that but he spoke very convincingly)? And then he put 12 dozes of each. The price shown was for each dose. After that he took 13000 Baht from me....I was scammed but it was so fast that I couldn't react.
